I was kindly given this link by Clover Lawn for inspiration towards what kind of skin colour I should go for. This picture also has that beautiful sketchy feel to it that I like and the outfits and colours work wonders together; it's very fitting for the character I'm currently making~
As far as skin colour goes, I really like the creamy colour to this, it's a nice sandy tone but I think I might go a bit darker. For her environment I was thinking more of a desert-like world so I'd like to get a crisp, chocolatey tone. I do love the outfits in this image though.. My design has already got a lot of these features though, like the drape and the flowing veils. I do like the idea of her having a hood though. It works well with the idea of her being a traveller and a commoner so to speak. I might just draw a hooded cloak as part of her more casual look.
